My Entry in the End of Decade Essay Writing Contest
The following was inspired by this article that I found on Twitter.
Apparently, my Sacramento Kings is objectively the WORST NBA team this decade. How’s that for an end-of-the-decade message? Seems like a very accurate description of life right now...
...unless you also look at the fact that Ginebra is still the darling of the PBA (and doing okay) and that the Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles MBT is the MOST dominant team in the UAAP in the last TWO decades (winning nine times) and won more than all of the other teams combined THIS decade (winning six).
Goes to show how long you can hold on in times of adversity and, more importantly, how recognizing all of your blessings (or just all your hardships) can drastically alter (or distort) your perspective of things. Oh what I wouldn’t give to alter events in the past couple of years! But, it wasn’t all bad and most of it were actually quite good...
As they say, it is what it is and everything happens for a (hopefully good) reason. Didn’t even plan on posting anything until I read that Sacramento Kings article but the universe has a funny way of goading us into doing something.
So, onto the next decade still with a heavy heart but with a more hopeful attitude. Happy New Year/Decade everyone.
P.S.: I just realized that this is my one and only post this 2019. Pathetic. In the spirit of how I blog about our travels (super late), I will post my 2019 adventures next year.
